Property in India is measured in many units. Flats are usually quoted in square feet, plots in gaj or square yards, RERA filings and building plans in square metres, and land in acres or bigha. Gaj is the same as a square yard (9 sq.ft). Bigha is different: there is no single national standard, and its size varies from state to state and even between districts. Set the bigha size used in your area so conversions involving bigha are correct.
